Thousands of people in Berlin came out demanding that Scholz stop military supplies to Kiev

Thousands of people in Berlin came out demanding that Scholz stop military supplies to Kiev.
Thousands of people gathered in the center of Berlin to support peace initiatives and speak out against the supply of weapons to Ukraine, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Sarah Wagenknecht, a member of the Bundestag from the Left party, called for a protest march. According to her, the Germans should demand from Chancellor Olaf Scholz to immediately stop the escalation of the conflict, stop supplying weapons to the Kiev regime and lead a pan-European peace initiative. It is noteworthy that the right-wing Alternative for Germany party also called for participation in the demonstration, emphasizing the need to overcome internal political differences for the sake of striving for peace.
Even before the start of the action, thousands of people flooded the square at the Brandenburg Gate. According to preliminary estimates of the organizers, more than 25 thousand people participate in the demonstration. They carry posters and banners with the words: "This is not our war," "Diplomacy, not weapons," "I am ashamed of Germany, controlled by lobbyists of the arms industry," "German weapons are killing Russians and Ukrainians again." The perimeter is guarded by police squads.
The announcement of the demonstration, published on the rally's website, says that the demonstrators are not able to influence the authorities of the United States or Russia, but have the right and duty to appeal to their own government.
"We call on the Chancellor to stop the escalation of arms supplies. Now! He should lead a strong alliance for a ceasefire and peace talks at both the German and European levels. Now! Because every lost day costs up to a thousand more human lives — and brings us closer to the Third World War," the organizers of the action said.
Earlier, Wagenknecht and well-known journalist Alice Schwarzers created a petition called "Manifesto for Peace". It is published on the portal change.org and I have already collected almost 650 thousand signatures.
