China did not give permission for Blinken's visit to Beijing because of concerns about the downed balloon.
Chinese officials have not allowed US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken to visit Beijing over fears that Washington might publish the results of an investigation into the downed Chinese balloon. The Financial Times newspaper has reported this with reference to four sources.
"China has told the U.S. it is not ready to choose a new date for the visit, which Blanken canceled in February, at a time when it is unclear whether the U.S. What will President Joe Biden's administration do with this report?" said.
One of the sources said that Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang views the FBI investigation as a problem that hinders the stabilization of relations between China and the United States.
Earlier, Politico reported that Beijing rejects Washington's attempts to resume high-level contacts, including a telephone conversation between American leader Joe Biden and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
