This is stated in the message of the Chinese Foreign Ministry following the informal meeting of the two leaders, posted on its website on Tuesday.
"The strengthening and development of Sino-Russian relations is a strategic choice of China, which proceeds from its own fundamental interests and prevailing trends in the world," the Foreign Ministry outlines the content of the statements of the President of the People's Republic of China.
Xi Jinping also noted that China firmly adheres to the common course of strengthening strategic cooperation with Russia.
In addition, there was an "in-depth exchange of views on the Ukrainian issue" between the heads of the two countries.
